Arms Are For Hugging

I hate this. I despise waking up in the morning and (after seeing the news) immediately having to ask whether a friend is alive and safe. It irritates me that this is not the first time I’ve had to do this. Sitting in a house many thousands of miles away I cannot even begin to imagine the terror of those in the middle of yet another absolutely terrible event. So my heart is heavy, for all those affected and for the knowledge that this will undoubtedly not be the last time I have to ask ‘Are you safe?’

With all those still recovering from natural disasters in Puerto Rico, Houston, Florida and many other countries across the world, it seems abysmal that yet another man-made disaster has ripped through hundreds of lives.

Arms are for hugging.
